Our Water Resource
When we talk about
water, we all focused on the pollution of water. It is true that some of seas
or rivers are contaminated, so more and more people start to fight for the
pollution, such as we always see some people stick the words like “keep thaoe
clean”. But now the shortage of water is much more important for us, especially
for the people in California. We always heard that the area is lack of water,
which experience the drought. Actually the biggest problem now we are meeting
is the shortage of water.
In general
speaking, most of water used in California is for the environment. According to
the Water and energy data, which shows bout 50% of water is used in environment,
and 40% of water we use is for the agricultural. Only 10 % of water we use is
for the urban. We
can do nothing with this kind of usage. We can not control it so much. But what
we can do is to save water through our daily life use.
According to
American Water Works Association Research Foundation, we use 26.7% of water for
the toilet, 21.7% of water to wash clothes, 16.8% of water to take shower, and
15.7% of water from the faucet, and there are 13.7% of water washed away
through the leaks. Now things are
better, we can see that most of restroom has installed two kinds of flushers,
so you can choose which one to use, bigger one or the small one. But most of
people do not care about it. For the laundry, most of people like me used to
choose the super load size water, but sometimes we only wash small amount of
clothes with the super larger load, which is really a waste of water. Also for
the dishes, we spend a lot of water on this. Sometimes we just let the water go
through while we wash the dishes one by one.
It is the time
that we really need to save our water, not only for us, but also for the next
or the next next generations. Or they will do not have enough water to satisfy
their basic needs. Since it is difficult for us to control the water used in
agricultural, but we can do from us. Maybe next time just choose proper size of
water to wash clothes, and just use some storage to wash the dishes. Also I
never have the idea that when we use the electron, when we drive the car, or
make some machines., we all have already used the water. I only know this from
the material that our English teacher showed us. It is so amazing, and so surprised,
that water usage exist on every activity, and every objects. Such as the car which
will use a lot of water to make a car. When you use the microwave, you still
use water to make ir works. I just start to relies that we need to save water,
not only for the water we can see use our eyes, but also need to save the water
through avoiding use the electric machine so often. For example, we can use the
pot to prepare the food, instead of microwave. We can use the car together with
our family members or with our friends. so it will help us to save some resource of water to make a car. try to think to save water when you use water.
